Coordinates

vector space $V$ 가 존재하고 순서가 있는 basis $B=\left({\mathbf{b}}_1,\dots ,{\mathbf{b}}_n\right)$ 가 $V$ 에 있다면, 모든 $\mathbf{x}\in V$ 는 unique 한 표현을 가진다 (linear combination).

$$\mathbf{x}={\alpha }_1{\mathbf{b}}_1+\dots +{\alpha }_n{\mathbf{b}}_n$$

이때, ${\alpha }_1,\dots ,{\alpha }_n$ 는 $\mathbf{x}$ 의 $B$ 에 대한 coordinates 라 부른다.

그리고 vector

$$\mathbf{\alpha }=\left[\begin{array}{c}{\alpha }_1\\ ⋮\\ {\alpha }_n\end{array}\right]\in {\mathbb{R}}^n$$

는 ordered basis $B$ 에 대한 $\mathbf{x}$ 의 coordinate vector/coordinate representation 라고 부른다.
